Personal Branding in One Hour for Lawyers

With over 1.2 million licensed attorneys in the United States, how do lawyers stand out from their fellow practitioners and get jobs, promotions, clients, and referrals? To survive and thrive, lawyers must develop their own intentional personal brand to distinguish themselves from the competition. In Personal Branding in One Hour for Lawyers, personal branding expert and experienced attorney Katy Goshtasbi explains how attorneys can highlight their unique talents and abilities, manage their perceptions, and achieve greater success as a lawyer in the process.

The Shield of Silence: How Power Perpetuates a Culture of Harassment and Bullying in the Workplace

In The Shield of Silence, Lauren Rikleen compellingly argues that sexual harassment and other negative behaviors will not be stopped unless the condition that drives victims and bystanders into silence - the overriding fear that reporting misconduct will result in retaliation - is eliminated. Combining fascinating research, extensive interviews, and strategic recommendations for addressing workplace misconduct, it is a must-read for anyone interested in the ongoing conversation about what's acceptable, and what isn't, in the workplace.

The Chief Justices

Since the beginning of the Supreme Court of the United States in 1789, seventeen men have held the Chief Justice position. The fFirst three held the position for a total of eleven years, and the next two (Marshall and Taney) held the Chief Justice position for the next sixty-three years (the two longest chiefs in our history). With this book, NCBP's own Dan Cotter seeks to examine the position of Chief Justice more closely, to describe the position's origins and duties, and explore the court under each of the seventeen chiefs. Exploration includes the background and careers of the chiefs before becoming Chief Justice, discusses the cultural times and puts their rise and tenure in our nation's context, while discussing some of the key associate justices who sat with each of the seventeen. Each chapter also focuses on some key decisions of the Chief Justices' courts.
