Join Us for the Next NCBP 21st Century Lawyer
Join us for the March 20 NCBP 21st Century Lawyer to find out who's changing the rules. Who’s Changing the Rules: The New Legal Landscape for Bar Leaders will be held on Friday, March 20, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. central time. The rules surrounding the practice of law have come under much review lately, especially in states like California, Utah, and Arizona, as well as among national organizations like the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System (IAALS) and the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers (APRL). This program, with interactive discussion between NCBP Council Member Patrick Palace, and innovation leaders Dean Andrew Perlman from the Suffolk Law School, and Justice Deno Himonas with the Utah Supreme Court, will discuss not only regulatory changes, but ABA resolutions as well, including Resolution 115. Join us for an ongoing discussion from the Midyear Meeting. This program is free of charge, but you must be registered to attend.
2020 NCBP Midyear Meeting Updates...Evaluation results are in, and the 2020 NCBP Midyear Meeting was a hit! Eighty-four percent of attendees who responded said they are likely to attend a meeting in the future, and seventy-seven percent said the meeting was effective in providing them with concrete and practical information they can use. We've added more pictures to the 2020 Midyear Meeting photos page, and updated the handouts page to provide you with more resources from the meeting. Be sure to save the date for the 2020 NCBP Annual Meeting - the 70th Anniversary of NCBP - July 30-August 1, 2020, in Chicago.
Bar Leaders, Be Sure to Tap Into NCBP Resources...For a bar president, good resources are indispensable. NCBP is dedicated to bar leader success and the NCBP Resources Page is designed with that goal in mind. NCBP hopes the resources will provide bar leaders with substantive content and creative ideas from articles and past programs, as well as links for relevant material we think you will find most helpful, including the NCBP Diversity Toolkit and submissions of Bar Presidents Pages. If you have a resource you want to share, be sure to submit it on this page as well.
ABA 2019 Legal Technology Survey Results...Each year, the American Bar Association’s Legal Technology Resource Center conducts the Legal Technology Survey Report, an extensive survey of attorneys in private practice on the use of technology in the profession. See more about the report on the ABA website. And, in keeping with legal technology, find out what happened at the 2020 ABA TECHSHOW 2020.
