NCBP Membership for Current Bar Leaders

If you are the current President or President-elect of a bar association, your NCBP membership is covered when your association is a member of the NCBP. If you are not sure if your association is a current member, please view our list of current NCBP Organizational Members.

If your association is not currently a member of the NCBP, please contact your Executive Director or a designated main contact person (if your association is run by volunteers only) to join as an Association member. The Executive Director or a main contact person is responsible for managing the membership account and receives notification when it is time to renew membership dues.

If you are a former President of a bar association, you are eligible to join as Fellow whether or not the association is or has been a member of the NCBP. Please note that Fellows membership is only extended to former bar association Presidents.

Membership Benefits

NCBP membership provides current and incoming bar presidents with essential resources and educational opportunities that will help them to enhance their leadership and to connect with a national community of fellow bar leaders.  Past presidents also will benefit from joining by remaining connected to the important issues facing the bar, as well as helping to educate future bar leaders.

NCBP members receive the following benefits:

  • A member discount for annual and midyear meeting registration (a $100 value!)
  • Opportunities to contribute to the development of meetings as a speaker or through participation on NCBP committees and in other leadership capacities
  • Resources available to bar leaders through the NCBP website and membership pages
  • NCBP Bar President, an electronic newsletter providing insightful tips for incoming, current and former bar presidents
  • Notification of events, offers and resources through NCBP’s electronic network

Continuing Your NCBP Membership

As a current officer your NCBP membership is covered when your association is a member of the NCBP. Please contact your Executive Director or a designated main contact person (if your association is run by volunteers only) to renew your Association dues. If you are unable to access your bar officer profile under your Association membership, please contact your Executive Director or designated contact person to make sure your account information or your association’s membership is up to date.

After your presidential year, you are eligible to renew/join as a Fellow of the NCBP.  This individual membership allows you to continue the benefits extended to you as an active bar officer and as a past president, you can join anytime.
